Talk:Variety of Robes

What are the best practises for loading up a lot of images? What format is suggested? I have a lot ready to go but GIMP put them in an odd format. xcf Is that OK or do I have to convert to png or something? Is there a page on how we should load up images? The only stuff I could find was about 4 years old..... Elajna (ContributionsMessage) 20:27, April 6, 2014 (EDT)

OK so first attempt: had a nice big name set out and then when I uploaded the file it saved it under the name on my local machine not, "Variety of Robes Gear1 Front.jpg". So how do I delete the file named "Head1.jpg"? Elajna (ContributionsMessage) 20:59, April 6, 2014 (EDT)

  • Edit Media:Head1.jpg and make the first line {{Instantdelete}} and note the reason for deletion, File name typo - and the file is unused (Valid for Instant Deletion), in the summary box.
You may also want to use a gallery to display the images. You will want to change the dimensions as necessary.
<gallery mode="packed" perrow="0" widths="160" heights="201">
image1.jpg|footnote1
image2.jpg|footnote2
image3.jpg|footnote3
image4.jpg|footnote4
</gallery>

OK after uploading six images now when I try to upload new images it says I can't and says, "Filename has been changed to "Variety_of_Robes_Gear2_Right.jpg"." and "Please modify the file description below and try again." So it seems to be insisting that I use a non-standard naming convention (with hyphens between words not spaces) for the filename??? Elajna (ContributionsMessage) 22:40, April 6, 2014 (EDT)

  • Do you mean underscores instead of hyphens? In a file name, underscores and spaces are the interchangeable.
"Variety_of_Robes_Gear2_Right.jpg" and "Variety of Robes Gear2 Right.jpg" are the same.
