A Tainted creature, in the eyes of a Monk with the Shintao Monk enhancements, are aberrations and extraplanar creatures that are not classified as Lawful Outsider.

Tainted creatures can be damaged, banished or destroyed by Shintao Monks using any of these attacks (depending on their Prestige Enhancement level):
