Korthos Village[edit]
If you have not talked to your Class Trainer, you are a Druid or Artificer, or if there is no quest available in the Korthos tutorial quest series:
- Jund Berglen: Stealth and skill, that's what a rogue is about. I can teach you to strike from the darkness.
- You: Spend action points on enhancements.
- Jund Berglen: (if you have no Rogue levels) Why would a <class> need to pick a lock or disarm a spike trap? Why don't you seek training from one of your own kind.
- Jund Berglen: (if you have at least one Rogue level) (open Enhancement Panel)
- You: Advance to the next level as a rogue.
- Jund Berglen: (if you have no Rogue levels) Are you certain that you wish to multiclass into the rogue class? If you are currently on a path, you will leave it by doing so.
- Jund Berglen: (if you don't have enough XP to level up and have at least one Rogue level) You do not have enough experience to advance.
- Jund Berglen: (if you have enough XP to level up and have at least one Rogue level) (open Advancement UI)
- You: Reset your enhancements.
- Jund Berglen: (if you have no Rogue levels) Why would a <class> need to pick a lock or disarm a spike trap? Why don't you seek training from one of your own kind.
- Jund Berglen: (if you have at least one Rogue level) You can reset your enhancements in any public area by opening up your Enhancement Panel (Ctrl-R) and choose to Reset Tree or Reset All Trees.
- You: Ask for Rogue advice.
- Jund Berglen: A rogue can get into places that no one else can. They can open locks, disarm traps, sneak unseen, and are pretty deadly with a Sneak Attack, too. What else do you want to know?
- You: What kind of armor should a rogue wear?
- Jund Berglen: Wear a chain shirt or other light armor. Rogues find medium and heavy armor too cumbersome to be useful.
- You: What kind of weapon should a rogue use? (see below)
- You: Tell me about Sneak Attack. (see below)
- You: Can rogues craft their own traps? (see below)
- You: I would like to train now. (see "Stealth and skill..." above)

- You: What kind of weapon should a rogue use?
- Jund Berglen: Rogues typically prefer rapiers or short swords for melee attacks and shortbows for ranged attacks.

- Jund Berglen: Rogues typically prefer rapiers or short swords for melee attacks and shortbows for ranged attacks.
- You: Tell me about Sneak Attack.
- Jund Berglen: A Sneak Attack does substantially more damage then a regular attack. If a rogue attacks a creature that is either unaware of the rogue or targeting another player, then the rogue automatically performs a Sneak Attack on the creature. Rogues will often use their Sneak ability to approach a monster undetected, improving their chance of making a Sneak Attack. You can also use your Bluff ability to get a chance at landing a Sneak Attack..[sic]
- You: Can rogues craft their own traps?
- Jund Berglen: Not only can rogues disable traps - in time they can learn to make their own!
- Jund Berglen: At level four rogues gain the Trap Making feat for free, which allows them to craft their own deadly devices.
- Jund Berglen: Once you have gained the Trap Making feat, speak to the Free Agent Vendor in Stormreach Harbor to learn more.
