Regarding: Mystical ingredients

  • So, these still show up in end-rewards, and occasionally drop in chests (and are found in green Ingredients bags), but are 100% useless. I had wanted to add a Template:History to the top, but found none that fit ~exactly~ (and also found the syntax to code a new one too dense to parse, sorry). I chose History:Component b/c it was ~almost~ the right text - "This page is about material component that no longer is useds* in-game" - it's a crafting component, but same diff. (Note that my choice said nothing about "can no longer get/no longer drops").
What is needed then, I gather, is a new variation in the Template:History? "...Obsolete Item that no longer has a use* in-game" - something loosely defined like that?
(* Note - The syntax of the current template forces "This is about a <subject> that no longer <verb>s in the game", adding an "s" to whatever verb structure is chosen. It fails w/ the verb structure "is used" (and would w/ "has a use", too). Since the verb has to be added manually anyway, maybe take that auto-complete part out, and trust that future editors can conjugate a verb properly? We can move this tangent to that Talk page if needed.)
  • This group of "mystical X" items is not alone in falling under this intentionally broad category of "obsolescence", esp as various crafting systems/etc. get reworked (e.g the various crests of Unraveling Enchantments, etc.). C-Hound (ContribsMessage) 16:16, July 18, 2019 (EDT)
    • Try {{History|custom=This is a custom history notice.}} -- Cru121 (ContribsMessage) 01:47, July 19, 2019 (EDT)
      • Eh... tried it, don't like it. Seems too much what it is - patchwork, stopgap, jury rigged - cheesy. There should(?) be a way to add to the syntax of the base template to specifically add that sort of category. Maybe I'll have to stare at it more harshly.
