Fear Reaper
Type: Evil Outsider (List)
Monster Manual classification: Unknown
Alignment: Lawful Evil
Rare: No
Organization: Each time an enemy spawns, there's a chance a reaper will spawn as well.
CR: Depends on dungeon level
Attack: Melee, Fear of Death
Special Qualities: Deathblock, Incorporeal, Floating
Habitat:
Description: Fear Reapers cause a stacking DoT effect ("Fear of Death"), which damages all characters within a specified radius until the reaper is destroyed. There is only a small radius around them where "Fear of Death" doesn't apply. To be clear, standing in touch proximity stops but does not remove fear DoT. Standing far enough away also stops stacks from growing but does not eliminate them. The range has been reduced significantly from their introduction to DDO.
Players have observed that the DoT occasionally stops ticking when the reaper runs out of nearby targets (DDO Forums).
The Fear Reaper doesn't like to come close to players. Usually it stays in its initial position, but it would like to have line of sight. They hit hard in melee, but in line with champions.
