|type=can be whatever the broad concept of the subject was. (unlinked)- NPC is linked by default.
- {{Para|plural}' sets the type as a plural word and eliminates the a/an in front of the term.
|replaced=is the replacement or new version, if any. (unlinked)|custom=will override all above parameters and just show the exact text of the parameter.|customcat=overrides all above parameters when setting the page's "historical" category (if any) and uses the exact text of the parameter. Use "none" to prevent the creation of a "historical" category.|NC=will prevent the page from being categorized.
Defines the variable {{#vardefine:flag_history|yes}}. It's intended to be used by templates to change the page behavior, when flagged as history; mainly to remove categories which are not intended to list outaged content.
