A round is a table-top term, equivalent to about 6 seconds of real time.

In DDO, the real-time aspect of the game means there is no such thing as a round. For instance, a player's attack sequence is not constrained to last for a fixed duration: it varies depending on the animations displayed on the screen. Howerver, some spell effects are based on a loose notion of rounds lasting about 2s, i.e. effects are applied every 2s (this is for instance the frequency of saving throws for a held monster, or the frequency of damage from Melf's acid arrow).
