Dust of Vile Darkness
Dust of Vile Darkness is a unique type of crafting ingredient used in the Esoteric Table and the Unholy Defiler of the Hidden Hand to upgrade items from Vecna Unleashed.
Only players with a copy of Steps' Lenses of Seein' Hidden Hand Secrets can loot the hidden chests containing the four types of dust. The chests each contain 0-3 dust on Casual difficulty, or 1-6 dust on all other difficulties, in addition to standard chest loot. Ransacked chests will not contain any dust. Each type of dust drops in a different quest:
- Gray Dust of Vile Darkness and Legendary Gray Dust of Vile Darkness drop in Vecna Denied (in a chest that appears after slaying Belanatharis.)
- Black Dust of Vile Darkness and Legendary Black Dust of Vile Darkness drop in Taken in Hand (behind a stack of barrels in the Eye's Redoubt.)
- Crimson Dust of Vile Darkness and Legendary Crimson Dust of Vile Darkness drop in The Evil We Know (underneath the Devourer's Jaw.)
- Golden Dust of Vile Darkness and Legendary Golden Dust of Vile Darkness drop in The Hand and the Eyes (in the little room north of the final shrine) from Grip of the Hidden Hand.
