Martial Weapon Proficiency
Martial Weapon Proficiency
- Usage: Passive
Description
Choose a type of martial weapon. You understand how to use that type of martial weapon proficiently in combat and thus do not suffer an attack penalty.
You may select from:
- Two-handed weapons:
- * Falchion
- * Greataxe
- * Greatclub
- * Greatsword
- * Maul
- One-handed weapons:
- * Battleaxe
- * Handaxe
- * Light Hammer
- * Kukri
- * Longsword
- * Light Pick
- * Heavy Pick
- * Rapier
- * Scimitar
- * Short Sword
- * Warhammer
- Ranged weapons:
- * Longbow
- * Shortbow
- * Throwing Axe
- * Throwing Hammer
Without the feat:
When using a weapon with which you are not proficient, you take a penalty (approximately -20% chance to hit) on attack and an icon appears in the upper right hand corner of the screen informing you that you are not proficient with your equipment.
Special Notes:
- Barbarians, fighters, paladins, and rangers are automatically proficient with all martial weapons. They will gain this feat, and all subfeats (weapons types) automatically.
- Dwarves that have the full Martial Weapon Proficiency feat will also consider Dwarven Waraxes as martial weapons, and thus be proficient despite the fact they are Exotic Weapons. Classes which do not have the full line, and only pick up the feat once, or multiple times will not gain this benefit.
- You can gain Martial Weapon Proficiency multiple times. Each time you take the feat, it applies to a new type of weapon. Alternatively you may multi-class with a class that is proficient with all martial weapons, and thus gain this feat and all sub-feats (weapon types) automatically.
